Can I register a Latvian company without coming to Latvia?
Often, yes. Registration can be done online when every signer has a Latvian e-signature or a qualified e-signature from a supported EU country. If not, the documents are signed on paper with notarised signatures. Tell us where the owners live and we will explain the simplest route.
What is a small-capital SIA?
An SIA with less than the standard €2,800 share capital. It is allowed when there are at most five founders, all of them individuals, and every board member is also a shareholder. Part of each year’s profit then has to be set aside as a reserve.
Do I need a Latvian address?
Yes. Every SIA needs a legal address in Latvia, and the owner of that address has to agree to it. If you don’t have one, use our legal address service.
How long does it take?
The Register of Enterprises usually reviews a standard application in 1–3 working days. Preparing documents and opening the account for the share capital comes before that. Your quote includes a realistic timeline.
